students to feel free to email us at any time with their ideas and thoughts to expand and grow the EAST TEXAS CHAPTER OF ASSE. They

Linda Markin-President of East Texas Chapter Of ASSE

Richard Bourlon, Region III Vice President, came and presented information about the ASSE at our October meeting. He addressed how
and why to become a member and also how to use the ASSE website to gain useful information related to the Safety Field. Pictured
above, from left to right, is Richard and Dr. Ron Withers setting up the computers for the intranet communication to the Tyler location.
After everything was set up, Richard showed us that the system was so easy to use that he could do it with his eyes closed or that the
camera flash was to bright. At the beginning of the meeting Richard presented Kirk Krienke, from Tyler Pipe, with a certificate for being a
member of the ASSE for 25 years. Thank you Kirk for 25 years of service as a member of the ASSE.
Richard took some time before the meeting to talk with Sherri Brown, Kilgore College Student Section President, about how the ASSE
could help them with their Safety and Health Expo on Nov. 10, 2006. Wade Duck, Kilgore College Student Section Vice President, Charles
Blalack, Kilgore College Safety and Health Instructor, and Kirk Krienke stopped and talked about years of service and other safety topics.
The turn out for this presentation was great, several people came to the Longview location, from Kilgore and Longview, and were able to
see and hear the Tyler members, at the Tyler location. Thanks to Linda Markin, our President, we also had box lunches brought into us.
Thank you Linda.
A lot of students as well as ASSE Members and ASSE Associate Members were present for Richard's visit and presentation. We look
forward to having Richard back again.
Thank you Richard for all you information and the time, you took, to come visit with us. I would also like to say thank you to Linda Markin,
Dr. Ron Withers, and Dr. Harbaugh for putting this meeting together. The intranet communication was a first for us and we will work with
the system and use it for more of our bigger monthly meetings. Thank you again to everyone that attended and promoted this meeting, it
was a huge success. Shawn Raney, East Texas ASSE Vice President
